AWARDS FOR HOMICIDE RESEARCH WORKING GROUP

To honor the contribution of founding members of Homicide Research Working Group, individual awards have been established. Award recipients receive a $500 cash award, as well as additional funds to present their research at the HRWG Annual Conference.

Christine Rasche Award

To honor the scholarly achievements of Christine Rasche, the membership has established a thesis award for the outstanding thesis or master’s graduate work with a focus on homicide and/or lethal violence.

Richard Block Award

To honor the scholarly achievements of Richard Block, as well as his role as co-founder of the Homicide Research Working Group, the membership has established a dissertation award for outstanding research with a focus on homicide and/or lethal violence. Carolyn Rebecca Block Award

To honor the scholarly and practitioner achievements of Carolyn Rebecca Block, as well has her role as co-founder of the HRWG, the membership has established this award to recognize outstanding research contributions by a practitioner in the field of homicide and/or lethal violence. To honor the decades long collaborations of John Jarvis, Jay Corzine, and Lin Huff-Corzine, as well as their roles as original members of the Homicide Research Working Group, the membership has established a research-practitioner partnership paper award for an outstanding scholarly paper in the field of homicide or lethal violence that demonstrates the importance of the researcher-practitioner partnership. Nominations are now being accepted through January 31 for Carolyn Rebecca Block Award (Outstanding Contribution by a Practitioner), the Richard Block Award (Outstanding Dissertation), and the Chris Rasche Award (Outstanding Thesis Award).
